King’s School of English is part of the King’s group that was established in 1957. The school itself was founded in 1980 and provides intense English Language courses intended for university education as well as special academic preparation courses. Today the school accepts students from all nations and offers both academic oriented and language learning oriented courses. The number of students during the academic year is around 130, this figure reaches 250-300 during summer months. It is very easy and an exciting experience to meet people from so many different nations; anyone who attends these courses will always express joy at this prospect.
The school is located in a quiet part of residential Oxford, a 10-minute bus ride away from the centre. One of the foremost prospects of the school is its closeness to the houses of the volunteer families. The school is also close to recreational-sports grounds, swimming pool, library and pubs.
During the summer months students can use the accommodation facilities at our own St. Joseph Hall, the halls of residence at Crescent only a two minute walk away and Oxford Brookes University.
The school has 16 classrooms, a library, listening centre/language laboratory, computer rooms, science labs, recreation rooms, internet café, gardens and several special offices that allow modern features to enhance education.
Our school is the official IELTS examination centre in Oxford and is one of the busiest centres on a global scale. The school offers special courses for preparation to such examinations. Besides English courses we also offer GCE Level 1 courses and academic foundation courses.
King’s School Oxford has been certified by the British Council for English language education and by the Independent Schools of Higher Education Council of Acceptance for academic education and is regularly audited by these institutions.
